Kracie Popin' Cookin'!

A few weeks ago, I was watching a video of one of my favorite bloggers, Xiaxue. Basically, there's these Japanese kits where you can make candy food, out of powder! I love random kitschy things so I ordered two kits online and they came!

Sushi kit and Hamburger kit

All you need is water and something to put the candy sushi on. I though my wooden sushi roller would be cute.

What's inside the box: a bunch of different powders, a tray, spatula, dropper, and "seaweed"

First you pour out the powder

Then add water and stir.

Tadah! Sushi "rice!"

I made "tamago," egg sushi

Tuna "sushi"

My cute helper!
My little sister. Jk, not cute. I originally wanted to do a video but my sister kept trying to eat the sushi lol and saying inappropriate things so that didn't work out...

This one is so cool! You put the orange powder in one section and some white powder in another section.

Then you drop some of the orange liquid into the other liquid and balls form! So cool!!
Totally looks like salmon roe. I was too eager and made some "special" eggs with bubbles in them haha.

Done! Time for sushi

Seaweed! Basically it's... like edible play-doh lol.
Effing blogger, it randomly rotates my pictures and I don't know how to fix it!!

Time to make sushi! My sister's uneven tamago haha

Looks just like egg sushi!

Tuna sushi :)

"salmon roe"

Ahh, so cute!!

My sushi :) So adorable

My sister posing with the sushi. Such a weirdo...

You can even add "soy sauce"

My "special" salmon roe hahah

The instructions on the box are written in Japanese, so I had to look up English instructions online. Japanese people are so polite, it's hilarious. In just one step, they say "please" four times LOL!

Overall, making the sushi was fun. It's so cool to just mix water and powder and see all this form. Well... I know it's just grape-flavored gelatin but still cool! The sushi doesn't taste too bad either. Would I eat it again? No haha. But it's not disgusting. The sushi rice is good :} Tastes like grape chewy candy. Plus, now I have embarassing videos of my sister to blackmail her with muahah

Bye bye school, for now

Took my last final and dropped off my 20 page research paper today. I'm still at school for another year to take pre reqs for grad school, but I'M DONE WITH MY UNDERGRAD AND IT FEELS GREAT! I am not a school person by any means; it has been a long and torturous journey!!

My reward for forcing myself to finish school. Food for a champion at Champion Food!

Pho sandwich! It didn't taste like pho this time... but still yummy in my tummy!

Popcorn chicken. Very Chinese tasting  haha

Dessert: Tebo Tebo Cloud Nine drink

Good day :)

Week in Pictures

Seafood Cove 2 in Westminster, CA (just down the street from my house!)

I haven't hung out with my girlfriends in a loong time. We randomly met up for dim sum, yum! I'll do a detailed review later.

Dim Sum cart! So many fried foods...

I love this! Inside is taro and savory pork.

Mitt Romney! Jk, pretty sure Romney wouldn't be just chilling on Bolsa. I pretended to take pics of Alina and snuck pics of this guy hahah. He looks exactly like Romney, doesn't he?!

Testing out my camera at work.

Our new sushi bar! I was going to upload pics to our facebook page but the sushi chef said we might be adding more details. Matsu Restaurant if you want to visit us :}

My little sister needed to go to an antique shop for extra credit. This was in downtown Orange. Antique shop with antique people hahaha.

Doesn't my sister have huge eyes?

So creepy! Bear rug

Yep, pretty sure it's real.

My boss treated me and my coworkers to japanese bbq!
Anjin in Costa Mesa, CA

Anjin is pretty popular, so I don't think I'll do a review on it. Simply put, you order various meats and cook it on a grill that's in the middle of your table. Fun! The meat is very good quality, so it's a bit pricey.

We all got drinks. I got peach chu hai, it was yummy but not strong. Green apple chu hai for my friends and manly mug of beer for my boss lol

Look at that marbling! I believe this is US Kobe beef? so good
This is the best part of the meal for me haha. I love salad.

Meat being cooked. The nasty looking yellow blob is intestines, one of my favs.

Meat's done! Definitely something everyone should try

At the end of the meal, the servers bought out a cake for me! Aww so sweet, my friend Alina bought it. Love her :') This was taken when I took off half the candles haha.

More dessert. What's inside the pineapple?

Sorbet! You can't tell but this was a mini pineapple, so adorable.

My dessert. Cream anmitsu, my loooveee! Ice cream with fruit cocktail, red bean pasta, mochi balls. So delicious, although the best I've had is in Little Tokyo in LA.

Typical Asian foodie, smh haha. This is my friend Alice, we got lunch after school :) Alice craved yakitori so we went to Ajito Japanese Grill and Yakitori in Cerritos. Review later.

Bacon wrapped quail egg. It was actually quite good!

Stinking Rose Roll!
I will end with this cute picture of me and two people I love dearly. Alice and my "special" boss, Yuji haha.

Mochi paints: Totoro and friend

Today's my birthday yayy. Actually, I don't really celebrate my birthday haha. I just took the day off, went to the movies with my sisters and watched The Great Gatsby (which
I loved!), shopped, and bought supplies to...

Paint! I've been in an artisty mood, although the only class I've taken is beginning ceramics during my sophmore year of college. I'm planning to take beginning painting classes in the summer, but they don't start until June/July boo. Since it's my birthday, I treated myself to this muahah. Since I'm starting off as a complete beginner, I wanted to do something relatively easy so I won't screw up too badly.

My inspiration:
Totoro, all asian kids and most kids in general definitely watched this growing up. How can you not love Totoro?

My freehand sketch

Outlining in black paint. Looks so simple and cute!

The end result...

Tadah! So cuttee right?! RIGHT?! Kay... honestly, it looked better before all the color boo. I used canvas paper and not actually canvas, so the paint was blotchy in some random areas, like the sky and Totoro's right cheek. He has a birthmark :} Regardless, I'm happy with my painting. So adorable ahh! Okay, I know it looks like something a kid could paint, but it was freaking hard! You see the shading on the totoros? Thats not just the light okay? I added those dimensions with my waonderful skills, kay! For my very first painting, I'm quite pleased with it. Yay, asian face! <(^_^)> Since finals are over in a week, I'll definitely spend lots of my summer painting more. Hopefully progressing to things besides children's cartoons haha. I have some food pics to post. Also a Mitt Romney look alike! I'm about to go to a late Japanese bbq dinner with my boss and coworkers, so update later!
